Kolaiseval Story and Plot

The story follows Kali and Anu, a married couple whose lives become connected to an old family tradition. According to a custom followed for generations, the family visits an ancestral temple located deep inside a forest when a woman is expecting a child.

As Anu approaches the final stage of her pregnancy, Kali and his family prepare for this traditional journey. What initially appears to be a familiar religious and family occasion gradually becomes a mysterious experience.

The journey takes the family away from their everyday surroundings and into an isolated forest environment. As they travel towards the ancestral temple, the atmosphere becomes increasingly uncertain. The old customs, family relationships, and unfamiliar surroundings all contribute to the growing tension.

The situation becomes more complicated when Anu’s family becomes involved in the events. Long-standing disagreements and hidden family matters begin to influence what happens next. The journey that was meant to follow an established tradition turns into a major emotional and psychological challenge for everyone involved.

Rather than revealing every mystery immediately, Kolaiseval gradually develops its central conflict through the characters and their circumstances. The film uses suspense and folklore-inspired storytelling to explore the consequences of deeply rooted beliefs and unresolved family tensions.
