DeSu7 (2026) – A Powerful Bengali Action Romance Thriller

DeSu7 is a 2026 Bengali action drama romance thriller starring Dev, Subhashree Ganguly and Anirban Bhattacharya. Written, produced and directed by Dev, the film brings together three popular performers in a story filled with love, separation, political tension, crime and redemption. Released on October 16, 2026, the movie marks another major project in Dev’s career and presents a dramatic story for Bengali cinema audiences.

The film combines emotional relationships with an action-oriented narrative. Its story explores how people from the past can become connected again, even when their lives have taken completely different directions. With romance and suspense at the centre, DeSu7 attempts to offer a mixture of entertainment, drama and unexpected developments.

The Story of DeSu7

The story follows Debaditya Roy, played by Dev, a former police officer who later becomes involved in undercover operations. After spending years away from someone important in his life, fate brings him back into the world of Dr. Subhashmita Chowdhury, played by Subhashree Ganguly.

Their reunion brings back memories and unresolved emotions. However, the situation is far from simple. Subhashmita is now married to Anujoy Chowdhury, a political figure played by Anirban Bhattacharya. The appearance of Anujoy’s twin brother Rana adds another layer of mystery and tension to the story.

As personal relationships become connected with political interests and criminal rivalries, the characters find themselves caught in a complicated situation. Dev’s character must navigate the challenges surrounding his past while dealing with a present filled with uncertainty.

DeSu7 builds its narrative around the relationship between these characters. The story mixes emotional conflict with suspense, creating questions about trust, loyalty and the real intentions behind different actions.

Dev as Actor and Director

Dev takes on the lead role and also directs the film. Known for his work in Bengali commercial cinema, he brings his experience as a leading performer into his directorial debut.

His character, Debaditya Roy, has a background in law enforcement and undercover work. This gives the story an opportunity to combine personal drama with investigative and action-oriented elements.

Taking responsibility for both the lead performance and direction is a significant aspect of DeSu7. The film represents a new creative step for Dev, allowing him to shape the story from both sides of the camera.

For viewers who have followed his career, the movie offers an opportunity to see him in a different creative role while continuing to lead the cast.

Subhashree Ganguly’s Role

Subhashree Ganguly plays Dr. Subhashmita Chowdhury, a central character whose connection with Debaditya forms an important part of the film’s emotional storyline.

Her character’s present circumstances create complications when the past returns. The relationship between Subhashmita and Debaditya introduces themes of love, separation, memory and difficult personal decisions.

Subhashree’s performance is an important attraction for audiences who enjoy Bengali romantic dramas. Her presence alongside Dev also reunites two familiar screen performers, adding further interest to the movie.

Anirban Bhattacharya and the Supporting Cast

Anirban Bhattacharya plays Anujoy Chowdhury and his twin brother Rana. These characters introduce an additional dimension to the central conflict. Their connection with Subhashmita and the wider political environment helps drive the story forward.

The supporting cast includes Rajatava Dutta, Kanchan Mullick, Priyanka Sarkar, Aparajita Adhya, Loknath Dey and Parthasarathi Chakraborty. Each performer contributes to the wider world of the film.

Anirban’s involvement is particularly notable because his characters create an interesting contrast with Dev’s central role. The combination of established Bengali performers gives the film a strong ensemble cast.

Direction, Music and Cinematic Presentation

DeSu7 is directed by Dev, with the screenplay developed by Dev, Rohit Dey, Soumya Nandy and Samrat Sharma. The story brings together romantic drama, political elements and action-oriented storytelling.

The film’s cinematography is handled by Subhankar Bhar, while MD Kalam is responsible for editing. The music is composed by Savvy and Nilayan Chatterjee, adding another important element to the film’s presentation.

Songs and background music play a significant role in Bengali commercial cinema, particularly when a film combines romance with dramatic storytelling. The soundtrack helps establish the emotional atmosphere and supports the different stages of the narrative.

With a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 46 minutes, the film gives considerable space to its characters, relationships and central conflicts.

Why Watch DeSu7?

There are several reasons Bengali movie fans may be interested in DeSu7. The first is its leading cast, which brings Dev, Subhashree Ganguly and Anirban Bhattacharya together in one project.

The second attraction is its combination of genres. Rather than focusing exclusively on romance or action, the film brings emotional relationships, political tension and suspense into the same story.

Dev’s directorial debut is another reason to pay attention. Audiences familiar with his acting career may be curious to see how he approaches storytelling and direction.

The film may appeal to viewers who enjoy Bengali commercial cinema, romantic dramas, character-driven conflicts and action thrillers. Its story also explores how past relationships can influence present decisions.
